Update from the Barnett Hill Spa Project

Where we are:
Site set-up and enabling works are complete, and the project is progressing in line with programme. The project team have worked closely together to prepare for the next phase, and we are looking forward to seeing the building begin to take shape.

What’s planned: October to December 2026
Piling is the first major activity and forms the foundations for the new building. It will take place over approximately 7 weeks and commenced  already. This is the noisiest part of the programme, so we have planned it carefully.

Once piling is complete, we will construct the reinforced concrete slabs. This will involve a number of concrete deliveries, which we will schedule to avoid peak times wherever possible.

Following the slabs, the basement walls will be formed and poured, giving the first visible sign of the building’s structure.

Alongside these works, we will install the new drainage, we do not anticipate any disruption to neighbouring properties as the works are isolated within the grounds of the Hotel .

Minimising the impact on the community
The contractor is committed to being a considerate neighbour. The measures put in place include:

• Working hours of Mon–Fri 07:30–16:30, Saturdays by agreement but not planned for, no Sundays or Bank Holidays
• Noise and vibration monitoring during piling, with quieter rotary/CFA piling method
• Delivery routes and timings managed to avoid school times/peak traffic
• Wheel washing and road sweeping to keep local roads clean when necessary
• Dust suppression and regular site inspections by third party H&S officers.
