Publication Scheme

Wonersh Parish Council has a commitment to transparency. This Publication Scheme and Register details the information published proactively and routinely, followed by options for requesting further information.

Wonersh Parish Council’s commitment to make certain classes of information routinely available is detailed in the:

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) gives you the right to request any recorded information held by Wonersh Parish Council and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR) environmental information.  If  you have an information request outside this publication scheme and guide under the FOIA or EIR and not contained in the disclosure log, please write to the Clerk by post or email, including:

  • your full name.
  • a correspondence address, such as an email address.
  • a clear description of the information you require. Please be sure to be as specific as possible with your requirements and, if applicable, please provide the date range you require us to search our records for.
  • the preferred format in which you would like to receive the information, such as a spreadsheet.

The Council will acknowledge your request in writing, requesting clarification if required and respond within 20 working days.  Occasionally, the Council will require longer to respond and will keep you updated if this is the case.

The FOIA and EIR may restrict the release of some or all of the information you have requested. The Council will assess your request and if any exemptions apply to some or all of the information then we might not provide that information to you. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) publishes a full list of exemptions and exceptions.

Requests can be refused if the information is already routinely available through our publications scheme, we do not hold the information, if exemptions are in place or if the cost of compliance exceeds £450.  More information is available from the ICO – requests where the cost of compliance exceeds the appropriate limit.

It is of note that the Council applies its Policy for dealing with unreasonably persistent complaints and unreasonable complainant behaviour to information requests too.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, please get in touch and we will work with you to resolve any outstanding matters. If you feel that your concerns remain unresolved, you can request that we undertake an internal review. Details on how to request an internal review are included in your response letter.  If you disagree with the findings of our internal review, you have the right of appeal to the Information Commissioner: FOIA and EIR complaints.

If you would like to know what personal information the Council holds on you, please make a Subject Access Request by contacting the Clerk.
